APPLICATION ENGINEER II

Oversees pre-sale and/or post-sale support of company products/systems. Provides technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications. Provides answers to customer inquiries concerning system software and applications. Provides software development and consultation to prospective users. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping. Developing professional expertise and proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Knowledgeable in one or more industries. Interprets customer technical specifications and generates strategies for implementation in production. Assists customer in defining detailed application, system, and hardware requirements.Prepares detailed hardware/software specifications on company products. Works from process and instrumentation drawings to design applications and control strategies to meet requirements. Consults with 3rd party vendors to define interface. Assists with on-site engineering, start-up and application commissioning. Participates in customer acceptance tests. Defines the requirement and supervises installation and wiring of all testing equipment. Assists in sales presentation of application opportunities. Assists in producing engineering estimates on low/medium risk potential projects. Provides Customer training. Develops software and completes all necessary documentation to meet requirements of the application specifications. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Builds productive working relationships internally and externally. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
