MetroPCS is currently seeking a Field Engineer to help with the build out of the Central Florida region. The position will to insure network reliability and keeping downtime to a minimum. The primary responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to the following:•Perform pre-install verifications, site documentation, oversee equipment deliveries, equipment inventories, and site layout.•Install cables, power, inter-cabinet wiring, alarm punch downs, alarm cables, bulkhead antenna connections and all associated Telco and Interconnect equipment.
•Integrate base station equipment into network and ensure optimal performance by following Lucent’s integration procedures. Call test new installation on each sector. Perform handoff and e911 call tests.
•Work safely on new installs, as well as service existing equipment.•Other duties required: performing PM’s as scheduled on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis. This person will work closely with and in support of other Field Technicians and Switch Engineers to ensure the highest system performance and call reliability. Complete redline documents, site clean up, site acceptance documents.
•Continue on site maintenance of approximately thirty-five cell site locations to ensure network reliability. Serve as 24x7 on-call Field Engineer approximately once a month.
•Work intimately with construction, switch, and RF groups to grow the network and integrate new sites in the most expedient and cost efficient manner.

REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
The desired candidate will have: High School, GED, or equivalent; plus minimum of 1 – 3 years wireless telecommunications experience and a mastery of the operation of key test equipment including, but not limited to: Anritsu test sets, T1 test sets, RF Communications Monitor, Digital Transmission Test Sets, RF Power Meter, Digital Multimeter, Personal Computer, and needed applications. Technical understanding of Lucent Base Station equipment, sufficient to diagnose and repair all relevant components, is required.Must have a clean driving recordOnly candidates who meet all of the above requirements will be considered.
