(2) Java/J2EE Application Developers

The position is for an application developer who will be responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and test of the various components of the Global DMA Program, which includes client/exchange connectivity and order management.The role will take on the following responsibilities:Design, develop and deploy enterprise/system components following a mature software development process.Establish working relationships with all the teams and team members and across the technology organization as appropriate. Interface with plan and Operate as necessary.Drive object-oriented analysis/design/development, platform specific build and packaging, deployment and production support issues related to applications.Ensure the delivery of quality solutions in a timely fashion in accordance to processes and controls.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
Strong software and business systems design, analysis, and development skills
Strong object-oriented analysis, design and programming skills including UML
Working knowledge of architecture, design patterns, and UML
Experience in developing and/or supporting trading applications preferred
Strong programming fundamentals including but not limited to data-structures, algorithms, concurrent programming, database design, and distributed computing (proficiency in more than one programming language preferred)
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Expert-level Java/J2EE developer (5+ years developing in Java, 2 years developing with message oriented middleware preferably Tibco RV)
Experience throughout the project life-cycle including requirements elicitation/gathering/analysis, detailed design, development, and testing
Working knowledge of SQL and stored procedures (experience with Sybase preferred)
Working knowledge of UNIX (experience with Solaris preferred)
Working knowledge of software process and methodology (experience with Rational Unified Process or iterative-incremental development preferred)
Experience with performance tuning applications preferred
Knowledge of unit, system, and performance testing tools and techniques preferred
Prior experience developing with middleware API's (IBM MQ, TIBCO RV, Sonic MQ, JMS)
Domain knowledge and experience of Investment Banking, Equities Business and Electronic Trading is preferred. Knowledge of the FIX protocol and previous experience with FIX engines also an advantage.General Skills/Competencies
