Under general supervision, a Webmaster for the Chicago Public Library duties are as follow:Designs and codes content Internet and Intranet Web services.Manages the accurate and timely publishing of large numbers of Web pages for a high traffic website based on current database technologies.strategic direction of web services development by providing a vision and direction of design.Directs long range planning to optimize web presence in the community.Develops user needs assessment, analysis and testing.Manages Windows and Linux based Internet software and hardware and web-based applications.Creates, develops and edits Internet services and web-based applications.Designs and deploys web-based applications using C++, PHP and ASP.Creates text and graphic designs (using digitization) for Internet and multimedia venues.Coordinates and consults with city departments on the implementation of web-based applications.Keep abreast of trends in and management of new technologies in website design and development.Performs related duties as required.APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE AND ACCEPTED ONLY ONLINE AT www.cityofchicago.org/careerworks FOR THIS TITLE.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or a related field supplemented by two years of experience designing, coding, and implementing Web sites, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, provided that the minimum degree requirement is met.

Applicants with programming experience using C++, PHP and ASP will receive priority in processing.
