We tutor all academic subjects including standardized test preparation. We also offer tutoring for students who qualify for Supplemental Educational Services through the No Child Left Behind program.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• All tutoring takes place in a one-on-one environment.• Sessions occur at the student’s home or at a preferred location, such as a public library.• This is a part time position, and we work around the tutor’s schedule.
• Tutors work anywhere from 2-20 hours a week.
• The amount of hours tutors work per week depends on their schedule, what subjects they can tutor, and the amount of hours they prefer.
• Where a tutor lives or goes to school determines which area they will tutor in.• Tutorial hours generally take place Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 4:00pm and 9:00pm. Hours vary on the weekends.• Tutors work with the same students on a weekly basis.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Strong communication skills.•Ability to motivate students.
•A reliable and personal automobile.•Consistent Internet access.•High level of commitment.•Pass criminal background check.
COMPENSATION
• $18.00 per hour for tutorials less than 2 hours.• $16.50 per hour for tutorials 2 hours or more.• Most tutorials are less than 2 hours.Teaching Credentials & Certain Advanced Degrees:*• $22.00 for a 1 hour tutorial.• $20.50 per hour for a 2 hour tutorial.
*Please note that credentials from states outside California are valid; however, emergency credentials are not valid, regardless of what state issued the credential. Any doctorate degree, as well as master’s degrees in education, mathematics, engineering, chemistry, biology and/or biochemistry qualifies a tutor for this higher pay rate.
