Transportation Coordinator

Summary
Assists Transportation Supervisor by providing support to the Transportation Department. Serves as a back-up driver when needed.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities
•Assists Transportation Supervisor with dispatch.
•Provides coverage by driving routes when drivers are absent.
•Fuels and provides basic maintenance for vehicles.
•Performs mid-day routes in a timely fashion.
•Assists Transportation Supervisor in creating routes or additions to routes.
•Assists with the coordination of repairs and preventative maintenance to company vehicles.
•Maintains records of drivers’ hours.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

ReceivedWorks under direct supervision and primarily selects from a variety of established procedures to accomplish work and receives general verbal and written instructions.

REQUIREMENTS
Education/Licensing Requirements

Must be 21 + years old.

Education or Equivalent Experience6 months experience working in transportation

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid California Class B Drivers’ License with a clear DMV record


Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Must have experience working with special needs children. Must have map reading knowledge. Must exercise sound judgment, and take appropriate action when necessary.

Physical RequirementsMust be able to physically restrain students in accordance with PART (Professional Assault Response Training) techniques when necessary. Must pass DMV physical and DOT Random Drug Screen tests.


Decision Making Responsibilities Determines appropriate course of action for a student within guidelines set by supervisor and ProAct trainting.
