The Newark City Schools Transportation

The Newark City Schools Transportation Department has several openings for Substitute Bus Drivers. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers License with a school Bus Endorsement. We will provide all necessary training and will reimbursed state fees to obtain a license for otherwise qualified persons. For safety of our community's children, an initial drug test, BCII background check, drivers license abstract, physical and TB test are required. thereafter, an annual physical, annual driver's license abstract as well as random drug and alcohol screening will be required. Starting pay is $13.20 per hour after route driving begins. There are many opportunities to move into regular time employment with an excellent benefit package. Substitutes and regular drivers have at least four hours of work available to them each day, Monday through Friday.
