Temporary Early Childhood Curriculum Editor

The primary function of this position is to enhance the quality of program materials for KLC. Focus will be primarily on editing, but may include writing and project management.

Essential Functions:

- Edit educational program materials, including curriculum, standards, lesson plans, goals and objectives.
Coordinate with other departments and personnel to initiate and complete projects and materials.
Perform curriculum research.
Support quality implementation efforts by developing support materials, such as parent letters or marketing copy.
Communicate and establish positive relationships with vendors, including printing, graphics and suppliers.
Participate in department projects, including curriculum development and special events.
Perform other related duties as assigned.


Experience and Education:

- BS/BA required; MA preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Knowledge of standard editing protocols, and mastery of the English language and writing conventions.
Understanding of educational programs and lesson plans.
Demonstration of foundation in child development, developmentally appropriate practice, early childhood environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal skills and ability to work with professionals from a variety of departments.
Ability to manage and develop new projects from start to finish.
Computer literacy and comfort with Internet.
Basic research skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects at one time.
Ability to work as a team and share common goals.
Acceptance of feedback and constructive evaluation of work.
Ability to self-direct and manage time.
Ability to give constructive feedback to others as part of a team writing process.
