Technical and Medical Instructors
Middle Georgia Technical College is seeking to fill full and adjunct positions in the areas of Aircraft Maintenance, Commercial Truck Driving, Industrial Maintenance, Barbering, Medical Office/Billing/Coding, Radiology and Nursing. Each position is listed below by title.
Aircraft Maintenance Technology Instructor - full time:
Teaching in all areas of both reciprocating and turbine aircraft systems.
Commercial Truck Driving Instructor - full time:
Responsible for training students any and all of the following: Visual Search, Communication, Speed Management, Space Management, Engine Controls, Primary and Secondary Vehicle Controls, Vehicle Instruments, Moving and Stopping a CMV, Proper Up and Down Shifting, Backing, Turning, Parking, Coupling, Uncoupling, Driver’s Daily Log and Monthly Recap, Vehicle Inspection, and the SAFE operation of a CMV on all types of highways.
Industrial Maintenance Systems Instructor - full time:
Responsibilities include teaching courses in the Industrial Systems program, i.e.Electronics, Industrial Wiring, Motors, Motor controls, PLC’s, instrumentation, fluidpower, mechanical, pumps and piping and computers.
Barbering Instructor - full time:
Under minimal supervision, prepares lesson plans and teaches both classroom and lab instruction for credited courses in the barbering program. Develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. The instructor must possess the ability to teach all phases of the curriculum. Ensures barbering equipment is appropriately operated and maintained.
Medical Office/Billing/Coding Instructor - adjunct:
Under minimal supervision, teaches classroom instruction for credit courses. Courses may be day/evening or on-line presentation. Instructor must be able to teach all phases of the curriculum.
Radiology Instructor - adjunct:
Providing clinical instruction and supervision of students in the clinical setting.
Nursing Instructor - adjunct:
Providing clinical instruction and supervision of students in the clinical setting. 3 to 5 days per week.
REQUIREMENTS
All positions require computer usage.
Aircraft Maintenance Technology Instructor - full time:
Degree Requirements: Minimum Two-year Associates Degree in related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Licenses/Certifications Required: FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings (A&P) Skills Required: Requires six years aircraft maintenance experience. Previous teaching experience a plus. Prefer broad background/experience to include small aircraft &/or large commercial aircraft; will consider others on an individual basis. Ideal candidate will have reciprocating and turbo-prop aircraft service/repair experience. Middle Georgia Technical College is an FAA-Certificated Part 147 school.
Commercial Truck Driving Instructor - full time:
Minimum Degree Requirements: a GED or High School Diploma.
Licenses/Certifications Required: Requires: Class “A” commercial drivers license, Current DOT physical card, a clean MVR for the last 7 years (7-year MVR required), minimum prior experience of 7 years over the road (must be able to verify)
Industrial Maintenance Systems Instructor - full time:
Degree Requirements: Associate degree in Industrial Systems Technology or related field required. Skills Required: Electronics, Industrial Wiring, Motors, Motor controls, PLC’s, instrumentation, fluidpower, mechanical, pumps and piping and computers experience. Prior teaching experience desired.
Barbering Instructor - full time:
Degree Requirements: High School diploma or GED required. Associate Degree preferred. Licenses/Certifications Required: Master Barber License required. Skills Required: Must possess a minimum of five years of documented experience as a barber.
Medical Office/Billing/Coding Instructor - adjunct:
Degree Requirements: Diploma or certificate in medical coding or medical office procedures with courses that include medical coding from an accredited college/university. Skills Required: Must possess a minimum of three years of documented experience as a medical coder. Certification by AHIMA as a certified coding associate (CCA), certified coding specialist (CCS), a registered health information technician (RHIT), registered health information administrator (RHIA) or certification by AAPC as a certified professional coder (CPC) a plus.
Radiology Instructor - adjunct:
Degree Requirements: Diploma or AS degree in Rad Tech required. Bachelors degree preferred. License/Certifications Required: Current GA RN license in good standing required. ARRT certification required. Skills required: Minimum of 2 years full time paid experience as a radiographer within the last 4 years.
Nursing Instructor - adjunct:
Degree Requirements: ASN required, BS/Masters preferred. License/Certifications Required: Current GA RN license in good standing required. Skills required: Minimum of 3 years licensed nursing practice within the last 7 years. Current RN and hospital/nursing home experience a plus.
