ARC of Rockland is a recognized leader in the Human Services field, serving Rockland County NY, providing a variety of services to people with developmental disabilities and their families. Our Children’s Services division, Prime Time For Kids, Early Learning Center is one of the most innovative early learning centers in NY and it offers Early Intervention, a preschool and extended daycare. Our services alsoinclude a licensed and NAEYC accredited Child Care Center . Itinerant services including physical, occupational and speech therapy are also available to eligible children. A special program for children with autism utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodology that incorporates the verbal behavior approach. Prime Time For Kids is staffed by dedicated and caring individuals including licensed professionals and skilled, motivated teachers and support staff who work together as multidisciplinary treatment teams.

About the Opportunity:

Do you have a genuine desire to play a key role in the life of a child who would benefit through daily interaction with you?
Are you interested in contributing to the growth of autistic children by, not only aiding them in the classroom with daily life tasks, BUT by training with professionals who are leaders in the fields of education and autism to learn the most cutting edge techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavior management used to help these children become more communicative?!!

We are currently seeking, and will train, high energy, creative, motivated, responsible individuals who are self starters to be Teacher's Assistants to work 1:1 with children with autism ranging in age from 2-12 years old.

Our teaching assistant staff work with children in a classroom setting and under close supervision, they assist teachers in providing physical and programmatic aid including program goals and on-going services of the children. All support staff receive continuous and ongoing training in behavior management during their employment .
REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Skills Required:

Associates Degree or NYS Teachers Assistant certification reqd. Bachelors degree preferred. Previous experience working with children a must! Applicants must have a valid New York State driver’s license.
