Teacher's Aide

Streamwood Behavioral Health Services is a multi site organization providing acute inpatient programming, residential treatment, outpatient services as well as therapeutic day schools for children and adolescents with locations throughout Northern Illinois. We are proud to operate the only freestanding child and adolescent behavioral health facility in the state of Illinois.Northwest Academy is a year round rigorous academic program combined with a strong focus on the social and emotional growth of the student. Our students, ranging in age from 5-21 years of age, demonstrate severe emotional, autistic or behavioral disorders and/or learning disabilities. Program goals include strengthening the individual’s esteem through academics and school activities, improvement of teacher peer relationships, and preparation for reintegration into the home school.We are seeking a Teacher’s Aide for our school located in Rockton and two Aides for our location in Streamwood. Duties include assisting the classroom teacher with daily lessons and routines, provide constant supervision of students, implement school policies and procedures and assist in providing behavioral management program. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess an I.S.B.E. Paraprofessional certificate. Knowledge of educational, child development and classroom teaching/management theories with a good understanding of educational and therapeutic intervention is preferred.
