Teacher/Special Education-Mild to Moderate

We are currently looking for a part-time and full-time Resources Specialist to services our clients throughout Los Angeles. Areas needed are South L.A.,Downtown L.A., Compton, Whittier, Downey, Eagle Rock, Carson and Beverly Hills. Number of hours will vary and are flexible.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, organizes and provides itinerant or site-based special education services related to all academic areas including reading, mathematics and language arts, necessary to meet the goals and objectives of each pupil’s Individual Education Plan; and does other work as required by the District Manager and/or as specified in the Total Education Solutions (TES) Special Education Provider Handbook, employment letter and Professional Service Agreement. Position may be part-time or full-time in exempt status.

Assesses individual pupil needs by use of standardized and informal assessments and observations.

Participates in establishing individual pupil goals and objectives and delivers services to meet these in coordination with other services being provided to the pupil.

Monitors the goals and objectives and coordinates activities, materials and methods to meet individual student needs and enhance pupil strengths.

Evaluates goals, objectives. Revises materials and methods as needed to produce intended results.

Coordination and Facilitation

Maintains accurate and up-to-date individual pupil records including daily Session Progress Notes.

Chairs IEP meetings as needed.

Consumer/Customer Relationships

Communicates effectively with pupil and family in meetings and through written reports.

Acts as liaison between TES, contracting agency, pupil and family.

Participates in activities and meetings designed to facilitate support and communication and integration of programs and services.

Training & Research

Maintains expertise in subject matter by continuing research, study and application.

Personal Skills

Attends to administrative detail utilizing initiative and good judgment; verifies details and information as needed with the client and TES administrative staff.

Maintains a professional demeanor, attire and work schedule as a TES representative.

Follows through on all duties and tasks assigned.

Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, self-directed and responsible.

Demonstrates excellent communication skills.

Demonstrates exceptional planning, written and communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must hold a valid California Credential in Special Education or area of specialization or must be enrolled in a program and have passed the CBEST and CSET.
Must have a working knowledge of modern office technology, equipment and procedures.
