Teacher Assistant

Hours: Per Week 20.00
Location: Child Development Ctr, IMC
Shft: RotatingJob Description:Assists in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the teacher in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Center. Assists in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies in advance. Participates with the children in group activities geared to their level. Participates on a one-to-one basis in playing games and interacting with the children. Aids individual children who experience difficulty in the group. Assists the children with self-care activities. Assists in the care and custodial needs of children. Is responsible for greeting each child.Experience:
Required: A minimum of one year experience in a child care environmentEducation/Licensure:
Required: Current high school student, diploma or equivalent. Child development associate credential and/or some education in early childhood education.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Required: Skill in determining the needs of children, relating to children, relating to adults, helping children with custodial needs and supervising several children at one time. Must exercise patience. Job requires continuous verbal communication. Job requires frequent reading skills and written communication skills.
