Systems Administrator -- Active Directory, VMWare

Our client, headquarted in Richmond Hts, near Cleveland Ohio is a leader in the Sale of fractional jet shares to private individuals and businesses. Operating a fleet of over 180 jet aircraft, flying between over 5000 nationally located airports, our client manages six remote maintenance and operations facilities located around the United States.

This client, is currently in need of a highly skilled Systems Administrator.

General Position Description:

The Systems Administrator will report to the Manager of IT Operations within the Information Systems Department of the Company, and will be a critical member of the company's technical support team. Primary interaction will be between all other Systems administrators and systems engineers, as well as end-users and process owners to provide effective coverage of services.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background around personal computer systems management, problem resolution and configuration and effective use of network connectivity and system security concepts. The candidate will ideally have migrated from an end-user support role, where supporting user access to critical business applications of all kinds is essential, then several years (5-7years) of Microsoft server product administration experience.

It cannot be understated that the position responsibility entrusts the candidate to display the highest degree of honesty, trustworthiness, reliability and integrity due to the significant and sensitive access delegation.

Primary responsibilities include:
oProviding systems access control to approved individuals by following administration procedures and best practice guidelines.
oMaintenance of Windows server hardware and operating system health and patching levels.
oMaintenance and support of Virtual servers operating systems
oCo-responsibility of maintenance and support of SAN storage cluster.
oKey member of infrastructure architecture design and planning team
oEnsuring documentation of MS Windows systems administration is shared between other appropriate MS WINDOWS administrators so as to eliminate single point of knowledge and service gaps.
Secondary Responsibilities include:
oResponsibility for designated servers patching, hardware and operational health
oSupport to other applications depending upon the Microsoft Active Directory
oSupport of desktop systems standards definition (MSP – minimum stable platform) and adherence, propose changes to MSP for approval and rollout
oCarefully documenting additions, deletions and modifications of systems and maintaining accurate inventory records of all designated hardware.
oConstantly improving processes for user management and audit tracking, and assuring a secure and reliable systems user facilities.
oHelpdesk support to end users for general systems support, Windows environment, and ensuring the highest quality of end user services delivery.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate Qualifications
o5+ years experience in troubleshooting of end user equipment and productivity applications use
o5+ years experience in Microsoft desktop systems administration
o5+ years experience in Windows NT/2000/XP server system administration
oSolid understanding of the Microsoft desktop applications, desktop operating systems, and Active Directory interactions of those products with a passion for detail.
oExperience with VMWare products ESX and/or GSX
oExcellent organization, communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
oAssociates Degree and/or equivalent practical experience, with continuing study towards a Bachelors Degree.
