Risk Management Educator

A challenging and diversified opportunity exists for an experienced professional within the Department of Risk Management and Insurance of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. The Risk Management Educator is responsible for providing education and training for employees (including medical staff, residents, nurses, and other employees) with regard to Professional Liability, Risk Management and Patient Safety information. Other duties include the development and presentation of education materials, and the coordination of loss prevention training activities within the Hospital. This position requires familiarity with current medical malpractice and patient safety law, policies and procedures, as well as a solid background in the broad scope of healthcare regulatory compliance and healthcare risk control.
REQUIREMENTS
The qualified individual will have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in a Risk Management/Patient Safety position. The Educator must possess knowledge of laws affecting hospital operations, experience in loss prevention, claims management and hospital safety. In addition, excellent oral and interpersonal skills as well as proficiency with PCs and MS Office products are required.
