RN - PICU CNS (CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST)

We currently have an immediate opening for an RN - PICU CNS (CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST).
Duties include:
Provides ongoing comprehensive staff development program.
Coordinates the orientation / preceptorship of new employees.
Performs and supports current cost effective nursing practice.
Is accessible to nursing staff to address clinical problems and facilitate effective problem solving.
Provides direct patient care, assists with procedures, and responds to emergencies as needed.
Annually reviews and revises identified clinical competencies; reviews staff performance of identified competencies.
Oversees the Primary Nurse care delivery system in the PICU.
Weekly reviews the discharge plan with the primary nurse.
Assists parents in communicating their needs to the staff and MD’s.
Presents various research studies and applies them to clinical practice.
Uses validated nursing research findings to revise present practice.
Develops, implements and publishes nursing research studies.
REQUIREMENTS


Education: MSN - Education necessary to attain CA RN license and CA certification as Clinical Nurse Specialist


Requirements:
Current California RN license
Current American Heart Association BLS ACLS and PALS certification
MSN with CNS certification
Minimum of five years acute hospital experience in PICU preferred
Chemotherapy certification recommended
