We invite you to explore career opportunities within Education Station.We are seeking part-time instructors for our after-school programs in the Queens Public School District. Our small group instruction programs are designed to meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. Instructors will teach vocabulary and comprehension and/or Mathematics to groups of 8 elementary or middle school students. Instructors will assess students,teach students reading/math concepts, manage classroom behavior and record progress. Training, management and all lesson plans are provided. Excellent program and work environment.Paid training is provided.The approximate start date for this position will be some time in November.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have a BA/BS.
Teaching certificate or work toward a state credential is required.
NYC BOE certification
Experience in K-12 education is a must.
Ability to teach English Language Learners and fluency in Spanish preferred.
High energy level and flexibility needed.
Belief that all kids can learn and positive outlook are essential.
Instructors would work for 2.5 – 3 hours per day, two to four days per week.
Work would start between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m and end 2.5 - 3 hours later.
