Psychologist
The following are the responsibilities of the psychologist position:Outpatient therapy (includes individual, couple and family therapy as well as psychoeducational and process groups) - Each therapist is required to complete a minimum of 50% of their time on the job in direct client contact. Client contact will include individual, family and couples therapy as well as psychological assessment. The therapist must demonstrate agency values in the performance of this role. These values include respectfulness, stewardship (accountability), innovation (curiosity and creativity) and self-reflexivity.Collaboration and professional relationships – Each therapist is required to demonstrate a collaborative spirit in daily interactions, case consultation, program development, participation in staff meetings, interdepartmental interactions and in relationships with other community agencies.
Paperwork and organization – Each therapist must fulfill paperwork requirements in a timely and accurate manner. This includes all clinical case documentation, completing paper work necessary for insurance filing, entering and maintaining appointment schedules, and submitting attendance records.Professional conduct – Each therapist must stay abreast of the field through reading, conference attendance, and/or other professional training. In addition, each must demonstrate professional demeanor in his or her behavior both as a representative of the agency and in relationship with agency staff and clients. Each therapist must consistently adhere to legal and ethical standards as described by the licensing boards, as well as demonstrating a personal ethical standard fine tuned by consistent self-reflexivity in relationship with clients, staff, and community colleagues.
Training and Supervision – Psychologists serve as an integral part of the APA approved predoctoral internship and the postdoctoral fellowship. This involvement may include individual and group clinical supervision of clinical caseloads and psychological assessment, participation in the multidisciplinary training committee, and developing and presenting didactic training sessions.Secondary duties are not required of every therapist; however, if a therapist does not engage substantially in the following activities, the time commitment to direct client contact increases to 65%. Therapists who perform secondary duties are required to meet the 50% client contact standard. Following are secondary duties: Community training and professional presentations; research, writing, and publication.In addition to primary and secondary responsibilities, the psychologist may be required to perform other duties as requested by the Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director or the Co-directors of Family Therapy.
This employee works a Tuesday through Saturday work week and schedules at least two appointments 5:00 p.m. or later during the week.
REQUIREMENTS
Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, or school psychology. Must be a licensed psychologist in Texas.
