EDUCATION Program Services Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the GEAR UP Director, the Program Services Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day to day coordination of services provided at four middle school sites. The incumbent will oversee the implementation of the complete Tutoring and Academic Counseling components; oversee the planning and implementation of GEAR UP after-school and Saturday Academy programs; oversee and coordinate the efforts of GEAR UP Site Coordinators and GEAR UP Counselors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Provide training and coaching for full-time staff members
•Complete annual performance evaluations and quarterly goal setting evaluations for full-time staff.
•Maintain communication between Project GEAR UP, school site, and school district administrators.
•Coordinate Professional Development for GEAR UP staff and school faculty and staff.
•Hiring and training tutors, volunteers, instructors, student assistants, and GEAR UP administrative support staff.
•Ensure compliance with grant objectives from GEAR UP staff.
•Oversee management of Counseling and Academic Site Coordinator staff to ensure high quality and timely delivery of funded outcomes and to identify steps needed to overcome challenges to funded outcomes.
•Develop the Annual Performance Reports (APR’s).
•Develop new, and maintain partnerships with new community partners
•Collaborate with appropriate program staff to monitor and gauge program activities and their outcomes to ensure GEAR UP objectives are met.
•Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree. At least two years experience coordinating youth/parent programs in an educational setting. Minimum of one year supervisory experience.

Skills and Knowledge:
Proficient in math through Algebra I. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Other Requirements:
Candidate must have the ability to sit for several hours using traditional office equipment. Have the ability to lift, carry and/or deliver 25 lbs. for occasional meetings and gatherings. Candidate must be available to work during times when programming may take place: some evenings and weekends required.
