Program Manager/Arts District

Chartered in 1746, and known as the College of New Jersey until 1896, it was British North America's fourth college.Position Summary: New position as an Office of Design and Construction leader to support a 5 year capital program that will focus on the planned district for the creative and performing arts, (anticipate a $100M+ project), and for the interior design function for the entire portfolio of projects in the Office of Design and Construction. Will supervise the work of 4 - 6 professionals. Organize the work of a group of project managers to ensure resources are in place, tools and reporting mechanisms are properly used. Able to provide direction on a variety of topics and seen as a department leader regarding internal policies and relationship. Communicate clearly, diplomatically and professionally and possess good listening skills. Be able to work with a variety of personalities, including clients, regulatory agencies, designers, contractors, and senior management. Be able to generate clear reports, program needs, correspondence, etc. regarding complex and portfolio wide issues. Have an understanding of the relationship between cost, quality, schedule and program. Essential Qualifications: The successful candidate will have 20+ years experience with demonstrated success as a key contributor or lead on complex themed projects, experience with creative and performing arts facilities preferred and will have demonstrated strong project planning and design experience. Verbal and written communication skills must be excellent. Must be a registered architect in New Jersey.
