Primary Instructor- Advance Life Support Programs
The Primary Instructor will conduct, evaluate, and revise primary programs of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic training and education, providing overall course responsibility and supervision of instructional staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Confers with ops management, field personnel, healthcare providers and the NCTI Regional Director to maintain current knowledge of clinical demands and work expectations in the out-of-hospital setting.
-Consults with the NCTI Regional Director to formulate teaching outlines and determines instructional methods such as lectures, laboratory demonstrations, clinical opportunities and field internships, as well as individual remedial tutorial programs.
-Consultation with the NCTI Regional Director to select or develop teaching aids such as textbooks, training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, etc.
-Conducts and/or supervises classroom didactic sessions covering specified areas required by course objective/curriculum, statute or regulation and consistent with current science and accepted standards of clinical practice in the out-of-hospital setting.
-Measures student’s cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning and evaluates effectiveness of training.
-Monitors progress of students during didactic, clinical and internship phases of the educational program.
-Will lecture and instruct in the didactic phase of training programs.
-Will be the liaison with all participating clinical and internship sites.
-Fiscal responsibilities with regard to equipment recommendations for purchase, equipment maintenance and inventory control, as well as direct management and oversight of the labor budget for each individual program of instruction.
-Manage and monitor student attrition.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
-A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a health related field or education, and at least two years academic or clinical experience in out-of-hospital care in the last five years is preferred. Minimum of associate’s degree required.
-Current state licensure or cert. as a R.N., Physicians Assistant, Physician, or EMT-P is required. National Registration as an EMT- Paramedic (NREMT-P) and Instructor certifications in BCLS, ACLS, AMLS, GEMS, PALS, or PEPP and PHTLS or BTLS are also preferred.
