A position for a Postdoctoral Scientist is available starting now in the X-ray Crystallography Laboratory (Dr. Lidia Mosyak, head) within the Structural Biology and Computational Chemistry Department.A Postdoc is required to study and characterize structural aspects of binding interfaces between proteins by X-ray crystallography. Current projects are directed at the protein complexes that play an important role in CNS biology. Over-expression systems exist for several novel nervous-system specific proteins.We are looking for a PhD scientist who is enthusiastic, demonstrates a high level of initiative, and has a good background in Crystallography techniques. Experience in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (protein expression and purification) is preferred.The Structural Biology group is equipped with state of the art molecular biology, protein purification, NMR and X-ray facilities. The X-ray Lab has a FRE-generator, two CCDs (Saturn92 and Bruker) and crystallization robotic Systems (Liquid handling robots Multiprobe II, hanging drop crystallization robots Cartesian and Imaging systems to monitor protein crystallization).
