Part Time TOEFL/ESL Instructors - New York
The TOEFL Instructor helps international students achieve their academic goals through English language instruction and preparation for the Test of English as a Foreign Language.
Responsibilities:
Teach class 6 to 27 daytime hours per week, using Kaplan curriculum.
Prepare daily lesson plans according to established syllabus
Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Test, evaluate, and counsel students regarding their academic performance and goals.
Maintain accurate record keeping for daily attendance and student performance.
Participate in ongoing teacher training programs.
Work with area academic management to improve delivery of Kaplan programs.
Position Requirements and/or Skills Required:
o Bachelors degree required; TESOL Certificate or Master's Degree strongly preferred.
o Minimum two years prior English language teaching experience; experience with international students preferred.
o Superior skills in creating a dynamic, interactive classroom experience
o High energy level and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
