Part-Time Instructor Assistants, Fun Work!

MAD SCIENCE of Greater Kansas City starts its 5th year of sparking the imaginations of KC's children ages 4-12 for fun science enrichment. As we reach out to even more schools with our award-winning after-school science enrichment clubs we need more Instructor Assistants to help manage the kids, make sure they are having fun and also to enable the kids to receive good value in their hands-on science enrichment.

Our territory is the entire Greater Kansas City metropolitan area (KS & MO). We provide a 'we-go-to-the-schools' quality service. All instructor assistant candidates MUST be willing to go wherever assigned within our territorial area - you will NOT get to pick and choose your gig locations; a gas stipend is provided.

REQUIREMENTS
No science background necessary - we'll teach you the 'Mad Science way' - but you need to be comfortable with science and science terminology. The ability to connect with the children and to inspire their cooperation is actually more critical.

ALL candidates MUST:
* have availability weekday afternoons (most necessary are Wednesdays and Thursdays)
* have their own reliable transportation
* have a working cell phone
* have good-speed internet connection
* have Microsoft Word, and the ability to open .doc files
* have Microsoft Excel, and the ability to open .xls files
* have familiarity with e-mail messaging (the team makes extensive daily use of e-mail communications, group distribution messages, etc.)
* be willing to travel to our Lenexa office for meetings, training, and to pick-up/drop-off equipment totes
* physically be able to lift equipment totes that average about 35 lbs. in weight
* be neat in appearance, be organized, and be responsible - we are a professional organization
* be excited about representing Mad Science as an ambassador of our quality and excellence
