Out Of School Time Coordinator

An Out of School time Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of out-of-school-time program delivery. Assures that program is meeting its programmatic, evaluation and community-building goals. Program planning, day to day administration, recruitment and implementation of the 21st CCLC out of school time program at Nicholson Elementary School. Data entry to the agency and to the Illinois State Board of Education is also a requirement. Program components include academics, life skills, recreation and parent involvement. Position hours vary, but include day hours and those of the program, 2:45-5:45 during the school year and either 9:00-12:00 or 12:30-3:30 in summer. Special events may necessitate flexing of time. A cell phone is required. This person is responsible for maintaining good relations with the school principal and other key school personnel. He/she supervises 4-8 part-time staff. Periodic coordinator meetings and agency meetings are part of job Under the general supervision of the Site Operations Manager. Supervises and participates in the hiring and termination of out-of-school-time program staff. Develops and implements a comprehensive training program. Coordinates operations of the out-of-school-time program. Uses management skills necessary to effectively address all levels of risk management, discipline and behavior problems in the out-of-school-time program. Plans and makes recommendations for the implementation of high quality program activities that meet the mission and vision of program and that provide a range of learning. Has shared responsibility for meeting program requirements in partnership with community schools and families, and agency and funder standards for out-of-school-time programs, including record-keeping and monitoring of policies and procedures. May provide direct service to youth and parents. May organize consumer and/or oversight committees. Makes recommendations for membership. Seeks input from teachers, school staff, LSC members, parents, and students to determine ongoing needs of students and families. Negotiates agreements within the approved program with agencies and individuals who provide services. Secures appropriate agency approvals as. At principal's request, and with agency approval, assumes responsibility for additional out-of-school-time programs. Assures that site-based reporting and evaluation components are completed. Responsible for maintaining expenditures within budget. Makes purchases for program as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Program planning, day to day administration, recruitment and implementation of the 21st CCLC out of school time program at Nicholson Elementary School. Position hours vary, but include day hours and those of the program, 2:45-5:45 during the school year and either 9:00-12:00 or 12:30-3:30 in summer. Special events may necessitate flexing of time. A cell phone is required. This person is responsible for maintaining good relations with the school principal and other key school personnel. Must have at least 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university with coursework related to child development, elementary education, recreation, camping or other related fields or 1560 clock hours of experience in a recreational program or licensed day care center serving school-age children and at least six semester hours in the above areas.
