Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is a 120-bed hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, that is dedicated to the delivery of rehabilitative medicine. Sponsored by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, Wheaton Franciscan Services, Inc. owns and operates more than 100 health and shelter service organizations in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.The Occupational Therapy Clinical Educator ensures all OT clinical staff competency through professional competency reviews, development plans and on-going training. Supports the director and staffs' research projects and assists the director in coordinating clinical education opportunities for universities offering discipline specific programs.Specific Responsibilities
Assist the clinical director in organizing and maintaining a clinical competency program which includes orientation, regular assessment and training.Organizes and maintains a clinical competency program, which includes regular assessment and training.
opportunities to address skill development.With the administrative director, monitors practice to maintain compliance with professional regulations, licensing, and hospital accreditation agency standards.Assist the Director in coordinating clinical education opportunities for universities offering discipline specific programs appropriate to their education certification.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's-level degree from an approved and accredited program in Occupational Therapy is required. Current Illinois Occupational Therapy license is required. Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required. Maintains current CPR certification.Experience:At least five years' experience in rehabilitation. Demonstrates ability to teach and train clinical staff. Demonstrates ability to supervise clinical staff. Evidence of involvement in clinical education. Evidence of continuing professional development and contribution to his or her specific professionKnowledge:
Knowledge of state, federal, regulatory and professional laws, preferred practice patterns and licensing requirements. Basic computer and keyboard proficiency is required.Interpersonal:Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all constituents (staff, management, patients/families) in a customer friendly and collegial manner. Ability to be patient focused while orienting and training staff.
