Nurse Specialist - School Nurse

MacDonald Foundation (JTMF), has the responsibility for developing and implementing a comprehensive school health program in North Miami Beach. This involves the ongoing operation of two primary care school based health centers and three elementary school health rooms. The School Nurse functions in all of the above described clinical settings and is an integral part of the school health team. The School Nurse shall provide clinical support to the primary care providers and other health professional staff. Specific School Nursing duties include: conducting health appraisals, immunizations, communicable disease control, health education / training, community referrals, home visitation, laboratory assistance, and medication administration.Position is Part-Time (50%)


A graduate of an accredited Nursing program, a valid State of FL RN License, CPR, HIV, Medical Errors, and Domestic Violence certifications, plus three (3) years of patient care experience. Basic computer literacy and office technology skills needed. Excellent communications and customer service skills. Must be dedicated, self-motivated, enthusiastic and patient. Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple demands. Hire dependent upon Level II background clearance to work in Miami Dade County Public Schools. Any appropriate combination of work experience, education or certifications will be considered.
