Neighborhood Planning Technician (Part-time)
This is a professional part-time entry-level position. Will encompass a variety of basic technical tasks in providing assistance to professional and management planning staff to include: research, update and maintain official maps, records, charts, maps, and drawings; prepare a variety of reports and other correspondence and collect, assemble and analyze data pertaining to census information, land use, zoning and other planning projects Under general supervision, this position provides technical staff support and performs a variety of research, technical, and related project and administrative work in neighborhood planning and human services; and performs related work as required. Some evening and weekend meetings required. Basic knowledge of a variety of technical planning duties, knowledge of ArcView capabilities is desired.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High Diploma/GED; two years experience preferred, with technical community development and planning; or working towards a degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning, historic preservation, architecture, or other related field, and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and background investigation. Normal Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week, (Days – Monday – Friday with occasional evenings) Starting Salary Range: $13.00 - $16.57/hr. plus benefits, DOQ.
