Description Summary
The Education National Account Executive will be primarily involved in selling Software Solutions to technology directors and coordinators in State and District type government accounts. This position is a combination of telephonic prospecting/qualification and on-site presentations.
Responsibilities
•The Education National Account Executive will pursue sales opportunities through prospecting and new account development, is meant to gain thorough understanding of Education technology needs, and will build effective customer relationships.
oApproach decision makers in the designated agencies to promote/sell software solutions.
oEstablish and maintain a working relationship with decision makers, government officials, managers/directors.
oBuild relationships with the key technical contacts while resolving critical technical issues inhibiting the sale of our software solution.
•The Education National Account Executive must develop and maintain expertise across the Education product solution and be well read in the industry.
oExhibit excellence in communicating IS & IT technology, strategies and programs.
oIdentify competitive situations immediately, and develop plans to counter them. Communicate effectively with teammates and share expertise with peers.
•This person is also responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction through ongoing and effective communication. The incumbent will share information and ideas while demonstrating a collaborative approach to group and company goals and objectives.
•This position is one of direct sales/business development. Individual successes will be measured by dollar volume of revenue delivered and five (5) presentations made monthly.
Work Environment, Security Impact, and Considerations:
Office environment. Moderate travel required. Compensation will be a combination of salary, bonuses and commissions.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements
•Prior experience in Educational sales to state or local school districts.
•Strong demonstrable experience in selling any of the following education products/solutions such as student info, student assessment, data warehouse solutions, grants managements, special education, pre-k systems etc required.
•Knowledge of School Interoperability Framework (SIF) workings is required.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate has degree or equivalent experience, and has 5+ years of successful business-to-business and/or business-to-education sales experience in a technical environment. The incumbent is an aggressive self-starter with a sense of urgency; and is motivated, poised, energetic, and competitive. This individual has superb relationship building-skills as well as strong interpersonal and presentation skills. The ideal candidate demonstrates an ability to think on one’s feet and to work effectively within a team-selling environment.
