NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE COLLEGE COMTROLLER (SEARCH RE-OPENED) Reports to the Vice President of Finance, the College Comptroller serves in an advisory and consultative role for all College financial matters. The College Comptroller supervises the accounting department and coordinates the Board of Trustees Finance Committee agenda. This position performs various internal auditing tasks, including a monthly financial report to the Finance Committee. The Comptroller serves as liaison for all College external audits performed by private auditing firms, the County of Nassau, the State Comptroller or the Federal government. Coordinates required audit responses internally and externally. Responsibility includes the coordination and preparation of the College's year-end financial reports to SUNY and component unit financial statements in accordance with GAAP and GASB pronouncements. The successful candidate must have excellent knowledge of the various accounting pronouncements for financial reporting as well as regulations for the operation of New York State community colleges. A working knowledge of SCT/Banner operations in a college or university environment and the relationship between SUNY and the community colleges viewed favorably. Education: a Master's degree in accounting, business or public administration; or professional license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant is required. Both credentials considered a plus. Experience: Five (5) years of progressive financial responsibility at a management level in a college or university setting is required.
