Licensed Vocational Nurse

Position SummaryThe Staff Licensed Vocational Nurse coordinates and delivers the nursing care for the adult and geriatric patient population. Accurately assesses patient needs, identifies, initiates and evaluates an appropriate plan of care. Participates in staff and patient/family education to enhance knowledge, skills and necessary behaviors to facilitate positive outcomes. Works co-operatively with an interdisciplinary team in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice. Working in a unit staff position, applicant must have a well-developed plan for meeting patient needs, demonstrate good clinical judgment and competency in nursing practice. Responsible for collecting data, implementing the plan of care and communicating patient information verbally and in writing.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be a graduate of an accredited LVN Program. Possess current state license or permit to work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. One year of clinical nursing experience within the last 3 years. Current CPR certification is required. ACLS certification is optional. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current principles and practices, which are clinically specific to medical/surgical and rehabilitative nursing and gerontologic nursing. Ability to speak Spanish required.
