INSTRUMENT & CONTROLS REPAIRPERSON
The University of Michigan Central Power Plant is seeking candidates for a permanent position as an Instrument and Controls Repairperson. The Central Power Plant is a combined cycle co-generation plant with electrical generation capacity of 45.5 Mw and steam generation capacity of 1.1MMlbhr. The Instrument & Controls Repairperson will be expected to inspect, repair and maintain plant control systems, steam and water header pressure and temperature control systems, steam and water flow metering systems and all component units of these systems. Disassemble units and repair or replace components pipes, couplings and control devices, such as steam and water flow meters, combustion control meters, fuel and airflow controllers and transmitters, temperature receivers and recorders, damper controls and reducing valves.

Necessary qualifications include. Graduation from high school supplemented by technical training in a trade school or junior college, or an equivalent level of education and experience is necessary. Considerable knowledge of methods, equipment and materials used in boiler and turbine operation is necessary. Considerable knowledge of pressure, temperature and metering systems is necessary.
