Instructional Technician – Biological Science
$2,961 to $3,601 per month (full-time)

In this challenging position, you’ll perform a variety of duties related to the biology program including inventory and maintenance of supplies and equipment, inspection of experiments and student work, demonstration of proper techniques and use of materials and equipment for students during laboratory classes, ordering of supplies and processing of orders upon delivery.

The ideal candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific supplies/procedures used in the biological science laboratories, aseptic techniques for culturing microorganisms, safety procedures for chemical or biological hazards, principles of hazardous waste disposal, chemical equations, symbols, and scientific notations, principles of sterilization, optics, taxonomy, taxidermy, restrictive pesticide safety regulations, fabrication and repair techniques, research procedures, storage and preservation procedures of biological specimens, and the storage of chemicals.
REQUIREMENTS


Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology including coursework in Microbiology as well as prior experience in a biological science laboratory.

Full-time permanent positions provide an attractive benefit package which includes health, dental and vision coverage for the employee and eligible dependents, as well as life insurance and disability coverage for employees. Part-time positions are paid hourly with no benefits, except sick leave and vacation. EOE
