POSITION SUMMARY:
The Instructional Designer researches, designs, and produces quality training materials based on adult learning theories for both technical and non-technical audiences.

PRINICIPAL DUTIES:
Develops, designs and writes training curriculum for instructor-led sessions using multiple methods of delivery (paper-based and web-based) for all new-hires and existing staff
Delivers classroom training or directs others in the delivery of training materials
Determines training and instructional objectives and approaches to support organizational goals
Assesses training needs and conducts needs analysis and task analysis
Develops content outlines and instructional materials
Provides program delivery, evaluation, and participant management
Validates, delivers and/or manages the delivery of training programs and related activities
Works with subject matter experts to develop training
Provides project status reporting
Creates and manages the training timeline and deliverables to ensure positive training outcomes and on-time implementation
Redesigns training programs

REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires 3 to 5 years related experience including: instructional design, developing curriculum, and developing training programs. Must have technical writing and program management experience. Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of instructional design and computer and web-based design principles. Web-based training experience preferred. Strong curriculum development, superb writing and editing skills, proficiency with MS Word and Power Point and some experience with publishing software are required. Prior medical training experience preferred. Some travel is required.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
