Institutional Research Positions - Walden University

The Office of Research and Assessment has multiple openings in Institutional Research. Positions are entry level and above. The IR office retrieves and analyzes data to satisfy federal, state, and internal requests for information. The IR office supports the functions of assessment and research for the university. Institutional Research positions are based in our Minneapolis, MN office location.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
'Query student information system database to retrieve, clean, and organize data.
'Develop and produce reports on student demographics, enrollments, course grades, etc.
'Conduct trend, correlational, and matrix analyses of trends and patterns in student and program characteristics.
'Complete surveys and reports for outside agencies, such as the Department of Education.
'Present reports and data in written and oral form.
REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
'Bachelor's degree with coursework in research methods and statistical analysis, preferably within the social sciences. Advanced degree preferred.
'Prior experience working in higher education required.
'Ability to retrieve, analyze and present data in meaningful formats (tables, charts, graphs) to various audiences.
'Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
'Some experience in statistical software (SPSS preferred).
'Some experience with student information systems (such as Datatel Colleague) preferred.
'Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
'Creative, innovative, and able to work with minimal supervision.
