Support Services Level II

The University of Iowa College of Law is seeking to fill an Information Technology Support Services Level II position to provide assistance and consultation to the departmental staff. This individual will be responsible for providing end-user support for faculty, staff and students affiliated with the College, Law Library and affiliated research centers. This position is responsible for the installation and configuration of workstations, software, printers and other peripherals, managing accounts and resources, and other duties as assigned by the Information Technology Director. Some physical labor and occasional work outside regular office hours are both required.

This position requires a Bachelor s degree in a related field and experience in Information Technology Support Services (typically 1-3 years). An equivalent combination of education and related experience may also serve to meet these minimum requirements. A minimum of three year s experience managing user and computer accounts and resources in a network environment, with at least one year in an Active Directory environment, is required. Experience with desktop and server migrations is required. Experience training end users is required. Current (XP) MCP or equivalent certification is required.

Experience with managing backups, hardware and software inventory, UNIX and Linux, is highly desirable. Software programming and database skills are desirable. Experience in a Law School or other post-secondary education environment is desirable. Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures is also desirable.

Excellent communication, administrative and problem solving skills are necessary, along with demonstrated self-motivation and a willingness to take initiative and see projects through to completion. Must be comfortable working as a team member as well as independently when necessary.

The salary range is $36,000-$44,000 per year, plus a strong benefits package.
