Governors State University has an immediate opening for an Information Technology Manager/Administrative Coordinator serving as Senior Network Engineer. This position will report to the Director, Technical Services of Information Technology Services and the major responsibilities will be:

?Perform research in support of planning and network design criteria.
?Monitors and advises designated parties on overall network operations and efficiencies prior to and during design implementations and modification.
?Recommends ongoing advancement of overall network architecture.
?Coordinates activities in support of active projects.
?Provides supervision/training and development as assigned.
?Creates a variety of reports as necessary.
?Hones skills and expertise through professional development to advance Information Technology Services.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
•Ten years demonstrated experience with Network Operating systems.
•Five years experience as security administrator
•One year demonstrated voice telecommunications experience (Cisco)
•Three years demonstrated Unix/Linux experience
•Five years experience administering a large (1500+ mailboxes) Microsoft email environment.
•Three years experience administering network infrastructure equipment (Cisco)
•Demonstrated experience developing and testing disaster recovery plans
•Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field or degree seeking.
•Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) -Windows 2000/2003, or/and any UNIX based certification such as Red Hate Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Sun Certified Network Administrator (SCNA)
•Cisco Certified Network Associate CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
