Governed by a statewide board of directors, the California Space Authority (CSA) is a nonprofit corporation representing the commercial, civil, and national defense/homeland security interests of California's diverse space enterprise community in all four domains: industry, government, academia, and workforce.
Industry Education and Workforce Specialist needed in Pasadena Office.Provide support to targeted industry related education and workforce initiatives.Key Tasks and Resposibilites
Lead, manage and/or provide support to CSA projects and activities related to education and workforce related projects and activities.
Serve as lead and/or support education and incumbent worker oriented consortia, working groups and advisory groups.
Represent/support CSA as needed for presentations, briefings, reports, studies, etc.
Provide conference, tradeshow, panel and forum support for events/activities requiring a background in industry education and workforce issues.
Represent CSA to governmental and quasi-governmental agencies, business, industry, scientific and academic organizations in relation to education and individuals.
Facilitate and maintain CSA leadership of and linkage with workforce, industry and industry association organizations in relation to education and workforce dvelopment issues.
Serve as CSA industry liason to the California Space Education and Workforce Institute (CSEWI)
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Occasional overnight travel required.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills and Attributes
Leadership, organization, people and program/project management skills.
Verbal and written communication skills when dealing with employee, governmental, quasi-governmental, business, scientific, academic organizations and individuals.
Ability to lead and acheive in a less-structured political and entreprenurial environment.
Computer competency including: MS office, web research, email, ACT database, file maintenance, back-up, etc.
Political awareness and sensitivity.
Education and workforce development experience with or in industry.
Federal program/project management knowledge, experience and acumen.Required Experience
BA/BS, preferably in education or a field related to economic development. Minimum of ten years of professional experience and success in the fields of education workforce and/or economic development programs.
