IT Instructional Designer

Key Role:Function as an independent instructional designer in a dynamic consulting environment. Identify requirements, establish instructional methods and media, design instruction, and develop objectives and tests. Develop instructional materials, assess and ensure the adequacy and sufficiency of instructional materials, proofread and edit documents, and establish and implement formats. Maintain responsibility for ensuring consistency, evaluating instructional materials, and formulating revision plans.



Job Requirements













Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience as an instructional designer

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-Knowledge of Microsoft Word

-BA or BS degree

 

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with using instructional design principles and theories to develop Web-based, synchronous/asynchronous learning products and paper-based and other learning formats for targeted training audiences

-Experience with designing and developing modular learning information objects to be delivered through multiple channels, including Web browsers, desktop-networked computers, and broadband communication channels

-Experience with learning management systems, authoring systems, including Dreamweaver, FLASH, and video/simulation tools, and Section 508 preferred

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office

-Knowledge of Marine Corps business practices preferred

-Knowledge of the application of training theory and methodology

-Ability to lay out complex information in an understandable and usable format

-Ability to display sound judgment in determining training and instructional objectives and approaches that will support organizational goals

-Possession of excellent project management skills to ensure a balanced workload and successful achievement of deadlines and deliverables

-BA or BS degree in Instructional Design, Education, or Technical Communication preferred
