Corporate Development Training Designer
Job Responsibilities:This position develops training programs and materials, including participant manuals and workbooks, facilitator guides; computer/web based training media, job aids, evaluations, etc.
This position works closely with internal and external customers to customize and implement organizational training initiatives. All work will be focused on improving employee communications, organizational learning and development, operational efficiencies, and other initiatives consistent with Dollar Tree’s overall goals.Functions:
Conducts needs analysis, determines learning objectives and competency indicators, designs course content to ensure learning objectives are met.
Designs, plans, coordinates, conducts and evaluates training programs (both internal and external) for target audiences.
Responsible for assessing the most effective instructional method for achieving learning objectives.
Responsible for assessing and recommending strategic opportunities to implement distance learning and computer/web-based training.
Partners with business units to identify training and learning related business problems, issues, interventions and opportunities.
Designs plans, procedures and processes for the administration of training; monitoring employee progress and program effectiveness.
Develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
Stays informed of new developments, methods, practices, and techniques in the training profession.
Maintains active membership in professional organizations.
Assists in maintaining positive employee relations in the organization.Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field
Three to five or more years of training experience in assessment, course design, development, delivery, measurement tools and reporting
Two years experience in distance learning design required
Knowledge of curriculum design, learning models, and training effectiveness
Ability to effectively carry out responsibilities of the position, working independently and without close supervision

High proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is required
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite required (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Certification from ASTD as a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) is a plus
