Hospital Compliance Officer - USC University Hospital

USC University Hospital is a specialized 293-bed private practice teaching hospital and research facility, opened in 1991, and founded through a unique joint partnership between the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine and Tenet Healthcare Corporation. This position functions as the hospital-level Compliance Officer for an individual Tenet Hospital within the Tenet Healthcare Corporation system. This individual will report to a Regional Director of Compliance to advise and make recommendations to Tenet Healthcare and Hospital management about the Hospital's regulatory compliance issues.

This position has, among others, the following functions:

• Advise the Hospital's employees, contractors and vendors as appropriate, agents and Governing Board members on issues of regulatory compliance; • Support Tenet's Compliance Department and the Company's Corporate Compliance Program; • Coordinate and prepare monthly compliance reports submitted to the Company's Compliance Department; • Maintain the Hospital's compliance program structure to reasonably ensure adherence to applicable federal and state rules and regulations related to health care fraud and abuse issues; • Chair and supervise the Hospital's regular compliance committee meetings; and • Act as a consultative resource for reimbursement, safety and health, and regulatory issues.
REQUIREMENTS
• College degree or equivalent experience required. Masters degree preferred.
• Extensive industry related experience in health care compliance, quality assurance or other similar field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and fraud and abuse laws.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to motivate personnel
• Clear, concise and persuasive writing and presentation skills
• Strong orientation to deadline and detail
• Word Processing PC Skills, knowledge of Powerpoint and Excel desirable
• Decisive and capable of exercising good judgment under pressure
• Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
