Education Writer/Editor

LRP Publications is a thriving publisher of business-to-business newsletters, books, software, online services and more. Founded in 1977, LRP's fast-paced, results-oriented environment has contributed to much growth and success. LRP's goals have remained the same: to meet its customers' needs while maintaining an exciting work environment for its employees.

We are currently seeking an Education Editor to produce one 16-page newsletter and one 12-page newsletter each month (some of these pages will be done by Washington staff writers and contributors), work with our general and special education editors, and build a larger pool of experts. You will also contribute to LRP’s Ed Daily.com Web site. The two newsletters, What Works in Teaching and Learning and What’s Working: Data-Driven Decision-Making in the Schools, are national publications that provide in-depth practical information to district- and school-level staff who are responsible for making curriculum decisions, analyzing and using education data to drive instruction, implementing strategies to meet No Child Left Behind mandates, and providing ongoing professional development for school staff. The goal of both of these publications is to help our subscribers - who include superintendents, principals and curriculum directors - do their job more efficiently and effectively by providing them with practical tips, best practices, and relevant news.

You will have the time to dig into issues and provide educators with information they can use in their day-to-day job. You will have complete ownership of the publications and be responsible for the newsletters from concept to completion. You will interview the leading experts in the field on national issues. Eventually, you will become an expert yourself. You will also do some traveling as we attend two to three conferences a year.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications -

4-year college degree (preferably English or Journalism)
2 years reporting experience in a deadline driven environment
Able to work flexible, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week in our Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. office

Knowledge of general education issues

Experience with or knowledge of curriculum development

Ability to analyze education data as it relates to making instructional decisions.
