ARAMARK Education provides a complete range of food, facility, uniform and other support services to more than 650 K-12 school districts in the U.S. It offers public and private education institutions a family of dining and facility services including: on-site and off-site breakfast and lunch meal programs, after-school snacks, catering, nutrition education, retail design and operations, maintenance, custodial, grounds, energy management, construction management, and building commissioning.
As Director of Support Services for Food, you will be responsible for the supervision and development of 5 managers: Catering Manager, Marketing Manager, Communications Manager and Food Production Manager. These departements will be managed and directed on a large and complex K-12 campus.
This Director will:
Administer the Food Safety and Sanitation Program.
Administer the Hazard Communication Program.
Be responsible for the updating and of Licenses and Permits, Health Inspections.
Coordinate safety in the food service area with individual schools.
Maintain a security function, which protects both the assets of the service area and the personal safety of employees and customers.
In addition to the above mentioned supervisory responsibilities, duties include overseeing projects, nutrition regulation compliance, training, and the food service program. This position will be responsible for interacting with suppliers and supporting field operations and overseeing the procurement function.
Job Requirements
Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree (and/or requisite industry and management experience) as well as 5+ years of experience with institutional food service management. Catering experience in a K-12 school environment is a plus. Experience directing a staff of 30+ skilled, semi-skilled and non-skilled trade personnel in a union environment is required. Strong financial analysis, interpretation and computer skills are necessary. P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, team building skills, must be very organized and have the ability to work under pressure, while managing multiple tasks/individuals simultaneously.
