Director of International Programs and Studies

The Director of International Programs and Studies reports to the Associate Provost and provides collaborative leadership and management for Lewis University’s international education, exchange, and study abroad programs and associated initiatives. The Director of International Programs and Studies will reach out to faculty, staff, administrators and students to integrate existing university efforts focused on study abroad, study travel, and international partnership development. The Director also will represent the University’s interest with various organizations, agencies and consortia.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree and five years of related experience including at least two years successful experience in developing and managing study abroad programs at the university level. Strong commitment to global and multi-cultural education development for students and faculty; Excellent communications skills – both oral and written; Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, collegial manner; Energetic, experienced and entrepreneurial academic leader who has credentials in creating and administering international programs

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree; Multilingual skills; Extensive experience in study abroad program creation, development and assessment; Successful grant writing experience of character to fiscally and programmatically assist the development of international programming at Lewis University; Knowledge of INS policies governing international students and exchange visitors; Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with representatives of diverse cultures; Knowledge of funding avenues to support faculty and student study abroad/exchange activities.
