REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities : Engineer UNIX platform solutions
Install and maintain UNIX Operating Systems
Troubleshoot and resolve all open issues in UNIX queue
Development and execution of test plans.
Use of maintenance tools to apply software patches.
Development of SOPs for maintenance procedures and processes.
Provide direction for software upgrades and positioning.
Lead/participate on projects providing technical expertise for the success of the project.
Advise and train junior staff on UNIX fundamentals.
Define and automate daily tasks
Generation, collection, run and review dump/diagnostic information.
Work with vendors support group to achieve problem resolution.
Apprise management of all situations causing service interruptions.
Complete assigned tasks by committed delivery date or communicate delays in advance.
Maintain friendly and cooperative communications with clients and staff.
Review Service Center Tickets assigned minimally 8 times daily.
Record all time in Time Tracking application in Service Center.
Provide significant event reporting as directed.
Assist with troubleshooting of application and OS related issue on Windows servers
Required to work in off-hour on call rotation with other team members

Qualifications : Must have 4+ years experience in Sun Solaris Systems Administration
Must have 2+ years experience in Linux Systems Administration
Must have experience in UNIX scripting languages (Ksh, or Perl)
Experience in process automation
Experience in Solaris Jumpstart design and configuration
Experience with cluster technologies (Veritas cluster sun cluster, HP Service Guard)
Experience in HPUX strongly preferred
Experience with Oracle database UNIX support strongly preferred
Experience with SAP application UNIX support strongly preferred
Experience in NETBACKUP, Data Protector and/or Tivoli strongly preferred
Experience in EMC products (RDF, Time finder, navisphere ), Hitachi / HP disk arrays required
Understanding of Network technologies
Understanding of Windows Update Services and the ability to utilize this tools to auto the application of security patches beneficial.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple project tasks with minimal supervision.
College Degree; H.S. Diploma/GED and/or equivalent work experience required in place of degree required.
