DIRECTOR OF COMPLIANCE
Brooks Institute of Photography, a world leader in visual arts education, with campuses in Santa Barbara and Ventura, is in search of a seasoned:
DIRECTOR OF COMPLIANCE
In this integral role, the responsibilities will include:
Oversee quality assurance and on-going internal review of school compliance with government, accreditation, corporate, and school policies and regulations
Train personnel (or seeing they receive training) in order to perform their jobs in full compliance of regulations and company policy; and, to implement preventative measures to ensure school operations are in compliance
Review proposed changes to school operations and evaluate such changes from a compliance perspective.
Monitor daily operation of all departments/functions of the school to ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, accreditation, corporate and school regulations and policies.
Review on an on-going basis samples of student files to ensure necessary documentation is maintained and processing is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Work with the senior managers to ensure that corrections in areas of non-compliance are made timely and appropriately.
Review all documents that are to be sent to accrediting bodies for compliance, accuracy, completeness, etc. before they are sent to corporate for approval.
Report areas of concern to corporate Student Finance and Regulatory Affairs department
Review proposed process changes at school to ensure they are in compliance with federal, state/provincial, accreditation, corporate and school regulatory requirements.
Recommend business practice changes to improve compliance with regulations and business goals.
Audit the admissions, financial aid, student accounts, placement, human resources, IT, administrative, and executive functions.
REQUIREMENTS
The candidate we seek will possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related area is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years management experience is required
Experience in working in a regulated business/industry is highly preferred.
Prior auditing experience is desired.
Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the education industry is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, auditing skills (solid ability in math, statistical analysis and sampling) and management skills.
