Responsible for assessing, prioritizing, planning, supervising, and evaluating learning needs and educational programs. Facilitates the adoption of best practice standards and functions as an expert resource in the design, development and analysis of research activities. Works closely with operational leadership (managers, directors) advanced practice nurses and unit based educators to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to development of staff, professional practice, and research initiatives. Responsible for ensuring cost effectiveness of programs. REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Qualifications: Three years of recent progressive leadership and management experience in acute care. Minimum five years applicable clinical experience; experience in education and staff development desired. Working knowledge of current strategies and concepts regarding the delivery of patient care to acute and ambulatory patient populations. Knowldege of research design, implementation and analysis. Knowledge of current leadership, management and performance improvement stategies. Working knowledge of JCAHO standards relevant to staff competency. Requires excellent skills in written and verbal communciation, advanced problem solving abilities, team development, planning and follow through. Recent publication experience strongly desired. Ability to exercise authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scene of the organization. Understands the fundamentals of information systems and has working knowledge of computer use and concepts.
Master's degree in related field (e.g. nursing, education); earned doctorate in nursing highly valued.
Required Certification/Registration: California RN license
