The Clinical Educator will design and conduct educational programs for the Surgical Services Department including OR, PACU, CS, and OPS. Coordinates education for other departments that interact with Surgical Services including the Obstetrics Department. Develops and coordinates unit based orientation programs. Provides ongoing education programs to assure staff competency. Maintains educational documentation on all training and inservices; promotes quality of care and patient safety programs. Works closely with Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services to maintain staff competencies and meet current AORN Standards. Practices perioperative nursing according to AORN Standards. Relieves OR Charge Nurse upon her/his absence. Provides age and developmentally appropriate direct clinical care to infant, pedicatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric perioperative patient. Ensures a safe perioperative envionment for the surgical patient.
Shift/Hours:
Monday - Friday, plus call

REQUIREMENTS
Wyoming RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications required. CNOR preferred. Two years of applied clinical experience as a Clinical Educator or Instructor preferred. Strong knowledge base of AORN standards of practice. BSN and a minimum of five years in Perioperative Nursing preferred.
