Clinical Education Specialist (Northern California)


Job Description

Provides primary on site education to physicians and nurses on the operation of critical care bedside monitoring equipment. Includes configuration of bedsides and systems, in the adult and pediatric critical care areas, OR, PACU, NICU, telemetry, med-surg and ER. Includes the support of the equipment as customers use it on patients for the first time. This position is a home office based job with travel to hospitals in the designated territory to provide these on site services. You must have a high-speed Internet connection to optimize the downloading of software to your PC. Ability to travel overnight a minimum of 3 days a week required. Requires supporting customers in the use and growth of their patient monitoring systems, and assistance with implementing different clinical workflows. Enables the success of the installation team by planning ahead for resource needs, delegating tasks to a 3rd party resource when required. Following through with customers to ensure satisfaction with education plan.

Preferred Profile

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Advanced computer skills and understanding. Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills. BSN or equivalent experience for the past 3 out of 5 years. Valid nursing license required. RN. In depth knowledge of the critical care environment, knowledge of applications to include cardiac output, wedge pressures, ST monitoring, 12 lead EKG interpretation. Flexibility a key as customers will change schedules. Clinical teaching in servicing experience preferred. Territory that is supported is within the Zone. Some of the orientation will occur outside of this territory.
Some of the orientation is self paced, some on the job in clinical environments.

The candidate must hold a valid drivers license and have a driving record showing zero felony or DUI convictions and less than three moving violations in the previous three years.
