DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Responsible for the protection and safety of the Fisher College campus population, buildings and property and offer assistance to students, faculty, administrators, employees and visitors. Duties may include maintaining a fixed post, answering incoming calls and dispatching patrol personnel to emergencies; coordinating the resources of the Campus Police department and initiating appropriate action necessary to handle various situations. Specific duties include monitoring telephones and wireless radio channels; prioritizing calls; dispatching officers and/or responding to emergency situations, medical calls, fires, altercations, etc.; monitoring fire alarms, keeping track of officers and dealing with walk-in traffic at the dispatch desk. Additional responsibilities include identifying criminal offenses, enforcing college regulations and Massachusetts state laws (and participating in any subsequent judicial proceedings) making police reports of incidents and provide security at special campus events. Responsible for monitoring CCTV surveillance equipment at the control station and issuing of access control Identification Cards to all students, faculty, employees and other members of the college community. Provide constant, courteous attention to the overall safety and security of the entire college community and property.

REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS: A High School diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of two years of law enforcement experience required. Must have and maintain Massachusetts License To Carry “Class A” Firearms in accordance with the provisions of Section 131, Chapter 140, of the General Laws of Massachusetts. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the commission of Massachusetts Special State Police Officer in accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 22c section 63. Candidates must have excellent communication skills with attention to detail. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of the department and have the ability to work well with a diverse population. Computer and software skills in word processing, databases and office applications such as e-mail, voicemail are required. Must be 21 years or older. Candidates must possess a Massachusetts Driver’s License. Previous CPR, and/or first aid certification preferred. Appointees are subject to periodic drug screening as may be deemed appropriate by the Chief of Campus Police. A criminal background check will be conducted for applicants selected for interview. Uniform position works 40 hours per week.
